A bit about me:
'Patterns are my language and if I drop modesty for a second,
I speak them fluently.'
M. Veerag is a London-based fashion designer whose work is defined by a meticulous approach to pattern-making, an unwavering commitment to beauty, and a deep artistic sensibility. A graduate of the University of the Arts London, Veerag’s design philosophy is rooted in precision, innovation, and a deep appreciation for the poetic structure of form.
At the core of Veerag’s practice is an architectural understanding of pattern design. Lines are not merely aesthetic choices but deliberate, structural decisions—elegant solutions that merge function with artistry. His ability to manipulate fabric with both logic and intuition speaks to a mastery of the craft, positioning him as a designer who does not simply follow convention.
A thorough researcher and conceptual thinker, Veerag draws inspiration from the broader landscape of art, distilling influences from painting, sculpture, and architecture into garments that feel both intentional and effortless. His approach to sustainability moves beyond industry rhetoric, focusing instead on innovative pattern cutting and the design of garments with inherent longevity and adaptability.
“I moved to London for the coffee. Haha. Of course not. I came for the promise of something grander—an adventure, a spark, a bit of unpredictability. And London didn’t disappoint. The magic of this place lies in its contradictions—where being lost is just another way of finding yourself. It’s a place where you can feel like a stranger and, at the same time, like you’ve always belonged. Which, funnily enough, is a bit like fashion design in this city. One minute, you’re “showing off” in the latest trends, and the next, you’re mixing pyjama pants with cashmere sweaters like you just rolled out of bed. But somehow, it works. Everything works here.
I design fashion the way poets write - meticulously, with a love for structure, rhythm, and meaning. Art is my greatest muse. I find inspiration in brushstrokes, sculptures, the negative space in a painting and the way light carves through spaces.
Patterns are my language, and if I may drop modesty for a second, I speak them fluently.
My creative process is part intuition, part obsession - equal parts research, deconstruction, and a little bit of “let’s see what happens if I break the rules.” Every line I cut, every seam I place, is deliberate, a puzzle piece in a greater vision of form and function. Sustainability? Of course. But let’s skip the predictable platitudes. For me, it’s about designing with intention: zero-waste pattern cutting, pieces that transform and live beyond seasons. Fashion shouldn’t just be beautiful; it should be also intelligent and fun.”
